Dear Sir,

AIR RAIDS: 15th APRIL, 1938.

I have to report that the Railway was raided by

9 enemy planes on the 15th instant between 13.30 & 14.35

hours at Sheklung Station and Kan Shui Bridge, and 9 bombs

were launched at the following places:-

embankment slope badly damaged and track disturbed.

1 telegraph pole destroyed and all wires were broken.

aimed at Kan Sui Bridge (3-100' Truss Girder) of which No. 1 pier seriously damaged, but no damage to the girders. embankment slope damaged.

all communication wires damaged. on main line in front of theklung Station, with the result that 120 feet brick fencing wall on main line platform was damaged. 3 pairs of rails and 20 sleepers also damaged, repairs of which were completed almost immediately.

on loop line ash-pit, half of which was destroyed. 3 pairs of rails, 20 sleepers and the water orane also damaged. Repairs to the loop line track was completed at 3.30 hours the following morning.
